1. Assess vaccination status and routine preventive care needs in patients with IBD in accordance with recommended schedules
2. Individualize vaccination recommendations in alignment with current guidelines to help mitigate the risk of vaccine-preventable infection in patients with IBD
3. Implement strategies that increase the frequency of guideline-compliant vaccination schedule completion for each IBD patient prior to initiating therapy
4. Coordinate responsibilities for vaccination recommendations, monitoring, and administration among clinicians that care for patients with IBD

Activity Overview
Patients with IBD are at an increased risk of vaccine-preventable infections, however, a significant number of patients do not receive (or complete) recommend immunizations. In this activity, Gary R. Lichtenstein, MD and Michael Cirigliano, MD, FACP, will explore case-based applications for clinicians who care for patients with IBD and who have interest to learn about vaccine-preventable infections in the IBD patient.
 
The activity will provide expert perspectives, inter-professional discussions, and resources on (1) the importance of vaccines in patients with IBD and adherence to recommended vaccination schedules; (2) improving guideline awareness and vaccine uptake among patients with IBD; (3) vaccine considerations and challenges in specific patient populations; and (4) strategies to improve inter-professional communication and responsibilities relating to vaccine education, assessment, monitoring, and administration.

Method of Participation
